Saxon Expeditions; passion and professionalism for your project needs
Saxon Expeditions Ltd was founded by Adam Turner after 25+years in the marine support sector in varying roles including a decade working in the polar regions.
​With a background in miliary and law enforcement before working in the polar regions Adam gained experience in high risk environments and risk management.
Throughout his working career Adam has maintained his competency in SAR within the UK and his passion for all things 'outdoors' remains an underlying factor in all that is done by Saxon.

All of our operational staff are trained to a minimum of FREC3, hold RYA and R3 instructor qualifications, OPEP on scene command and response and are highly experienced in marine operations.
We can provide staff with JNCC MMO certification and SIA accreditation as required.

Combining the experience of Adam and his team we can offer a range of services from polar expedition support through to maritime safety and deterrent measures for infrastructure projects.

Adam Turner
CEO
Saxon Expeditions was founded by Adam, who brings a wealth of experience in the marine and expedition sectors.
With a background in the UK military and law enforcement before his polar work Adam, has over 25 years of maritime expertise, of training and search & rescue operations.
His passion for the being on the water and commitment to excellence are evident in every project, drawing on his previous work with the British Antarctic Survey he is committed to safe, sustainable activities.
Adam is a certified JNCC MMO and commercially endorsed Master and RYA/R3 instructor.

Sara Jenner
Expedition Leader
An avid wildlife photographer Sara's passion for wildlife has seen her travel the globe and work in many regions including Arctic, Antarctica, Africa and India.
A seasoned expedition Leader Sara can be relied on to deliver a world class expedition and has a great focus on our guest satisfaction as well as the skills needed to manage expeditions for us in the Polar regions and Africa.

Adam Harmer
Training Manager/Consultant
Adam is currently based in North Wales. With a background in training and assessing he now specialises in designing and creating syllabuses for National Governing Bodies alongside his maritime and polar work.
Adam has taught as a senior lecturer at Liverpool John Moore’s University and spent 15 years at Plas y Brenin the National Outdoor Centre.
Adam has worked and explored on all 7 continents from film safety in Vietnam and Jordan to Training and Guiding in Antarctica to assessing guides and instructors in Malaysia and Kenya Adam is able to support your organisation and provide leadership and safety critical training to you all.
Adam is a commercially endorsed skipper and hold RYA and R3 instructor certification.

Marcel Paul
Expedition Leader
Hailing from the Netherlands Marcel has worked at Ny Alesund Research Station in Svalbard and as an Expedition Leader in both polar regions.
With a keen eye for detail and an a proven track record in management Marcel is a dependable and knowledgable Expedition Leader who delivers great results in challenging circumstances.

Shannon Turner, LLB
Legal and Permit Assistant
Shannon plays a crucial role in our operations by assisting with permit, contract, and compliance matters.
With a special interest environmental legislation, she brings valuable insights to our team.
Shannon takes the lead in all contractual and legal matters.
Growing up in the polar community, Shannon developed a profound love for protecting these environments, which inspired her focused studies after an expedition to the Arctic in 2022.
Her passion and expertise make her an indispensable asset.
